Cambodia Crop Production and Marketing Project (CCPMP)

Our new project ASEM/2006/130 “Enhancing production and marketing of maize and soybean in north-western Cambodia and production of summer crops in north-eastern Australia” has been approved by ACIAR and commenced on May 1. The partners are the University of New England, NSW Department of Primary Industries, University of Canberra, CSIRO, CARDI, CARE and MJP. Bob Martin visited Cambodia in April and worked with CARE and MJP to develop job descriptions for the CARE (Pailin) and MJP (Samlaut) project staff. These positions have been advertised and hopefully can be filled before the end of June. Lex Freeman and Bob Martin also worked on protocols for trials/demos for MWS. Bob is planning to return to Cambodia in early July to help implement the on-farm trial and demo program for the MWS.
